Synopsis
Following the exciting discovery of six original reels of 16mm film in the Cinemateca Uruguaya film archives, FIFA and the Uruguayan Football Association developed a completely restored short film of the first ever FIFA World Cup. To complement the story as it develops the soundtrack features elements of Candombe (a Uruguayan equivalent of samba) fused with Uruguayan and Argentinean tango, and is mixed together with a contemporary 21st Century twist. Composed for FIFA’s centennial celebrations the film was first shown at the Stade de France in Paris.
